Since I can't really chuck at full capacity right now, I'm working on a sweet little diy project. I won't reveal what it is just yet, but I will say that you've never seen anything like this... Okay maybe you have, but it's still pretty sweet. wink

Wrist/hand rolls and trying to do them continuously. Just figured out how to do the F2F roll and am getting better at the B2B roll. Any tips? F2F and B2B is what they are called right? I'm new to the terminology.

You're right with the Terminology as far as I know. For the F2F, it's best to resort to only using your thumb and index, the less the grip time the smoother. B2B is pretty much a work on and get better thing, nothing specific that needs work there wink

Finally figured out the upwards 3-beat weave just now. It's one of the most basic poi moves, but I've been stuck for at least a year on it. Now maybe I can progress in poi!

Also figured out a basic 360 BTB aerial. Have also been unable to get those down for the whole two+ years I've been freestyling. I'm just terrible at BTB stuff for some reason.

Working on my left arm a lot. I've never practiced it much, so until this week it was absolutely terrible at doing even basic F2B, B2B, and B2F wrist rolls. It's awesome at F2F (and the corresponding aerial), though, mainly because I learned that one first on the left. Actually, my right arm is worse at F2F... Basically I've always used my right arm to do upwards spinning moves and the left to do downwards spinning moves, which limits my ability by half already. Trying to break out of that. Now my left can do F2B/B2F figure-8 wrist rolls, but they're a bit sloppy and off-plane, so I'm currently working on refining that.

Other stuff I'm trying to get my head around: over-the-head passes (pun sort of intended) and basic OHPs (for some reason, I can never get the timing right so the rolls never work right.)

Man, I have really weird weaknesses in the basics.

very cool wi! you are such an incredible spinner already, despite your "weakness" in some of the basics. having your left and right hand with similar competency will bring you to an amazing level. i look forward to seeing your results!

as for what i am working on, well school again  lmfao in a ceramics class and am looking forward to making some really decorative ceramic chux.....and possibly breaking them. i know full well i should not spin ceramic chux, but idk if i can resist if i made em. if i do make em, i will take pics before i spin and will document all spins with video. there are plenty of artists who dont mind the destruction of their work, and in fact will purposely destroy their work on film. im not really looking to destroy ceramic chux, but am very aware of the high probability of it.

move wise, im exploring contact. neck, arms legs all of it. seeing what i can do without much active searching for video inspiration. i mean having watched k and rob in the past has given me ideas for what i am doing now, but im trying to just kinda see what i can do, taking very little into account of what i have seen in the past.

Thanks for the tip. I'm getting better at both of the rolls by now. It's strange because my left hand is better at btb roll and my right is better at ftf rolls... I'm also left handed so I try to keep the chux in the right hand most all of the time.

I'm also working on the wheel and what I think is a basic aerial right now too. I can get a couple clean-ish rotations with the wheel, but I just started the other day. With the aerial I'm trying to just work at getting crisper, cleaner,  with it.

(this is what I'm working on. It is an aerial right?...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99GxKPcDUio)

question: how do I make the youtube link not appear as a video?
>>>>Fixed: Thanks SpinStorm! I did not know about the noembed tags.

The trick Im working on goes as follows:  f2f spin aerial hybrid ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGxKsm1icIA&fmt=18 but without the catch) , then lean into the path of the aerial so the nunchaku spin around my neck BUT dont catch the neckspin, let them drop down the front of my chest, hopefully into an intercept wrist spin.. So far Ive got 50% of it down and beat the sh*t out of myself.. This will probably be the one that knocks me out sinse its aiming right at the jaw if you screw up...  shocked

Inspired by soulwire's latest video, I started paying more attention to stalls and learned a bunch of different positions for them. Starting to integrate them into freestyle. Really fun! Most interesting new technique I've worked on in quite a while. I'm aiming to make them a major part of my style. For my next video, I think I'll try to do a freestyle without any bounces, using stalls instead. Should be a nice exploration.
